1st AgeingWell National Event
“Meetings with Health Innovation (3rd edition): Innovation in the management of health services: opportunities and challenges.”



The Health Cluster Portugal, held the 1st AgeingWell  National Event under the scope of the 3rd Edition of HCP´s Meetings with Health Innovation dedicated to the theme “Innovation in the management of health services: opportunities and challenges".

The Meeting took place on 19th April 2012, at the Portuguese Institute of Oncology in Porto, and brought together representatives of R&D institutions, health care providers, companies and users for a joint discussion and experience share on relevant topics to the overall performance of the sector.


The format of this Meeting included an introductory keynote presentation, followed by three roundtables which had as main themes:

  • Demographic changes in Portugal and in Europe: challenges and opportunities”.

  • Opportunities for articulation between public, private and social sectors, and impacts in the performance of health systems”.

  • The impact of ICT & Electronics in the management of health services”.

A second initiative: "Showcase - Innovative Solutions for the Management of Health Services and for Ageing" also took place in parallel to the meeting, including inventions/technologies in the area of human health developed by HCP members.
